Why this program?

In today’s era of growing market concentration, this program gives you the opportunity to dive deep into the principles behind how markets operate and how different types of organizations function. The programme was created by combining two top institutions – CERGE-EI and the Faculty of Business Administration at VŠE, giving its students the best of both worlds — strong analytical skills and practical business know-how, taught by real experts in the field.

What you will learn

You’ll gain a solid understanding of market dynamics, corporate behavior, and the impact of market forces on competition, innovation, and societal well-being. At CERGE-EI, you’ll dive deep into economics, data, and statistics. At the Faculty of Business Administration, you’ll learn how to put that knowledge into practice — in management, business, and real projects with companies.

How we teach

Through in-depth analysis and real-world case studies, the program equips you with the tools to navigate complex market environments, design effective strategies, and contribute to important debates on market regulation, competition policy, and economic development.

Your future impact

By uncovering the complexity of today’s markets, this program empowers you to understand and actively shape the economic landscape. You can become a market analyst, consultant, or economist in business, work for international organizations like the OECD or the World Bank, or even start your career as an economic journalist.

One of the key advantages of this program is flexibility — you can either continue with academic research at CERGE-EI or pursue a hands-on master’s degree in international management at the Faculty of Business Administration.
