Curriculum

The Economics of Markets and Organizations program is designed as an interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree that connects economic theory with the real-world dynamics of markets and industries.

By combining the strengths of two leading institutions — CERGE-EI, a top research center in economics, and FPH VŠE, a faculty known for its business and management focus — the program offers students a truly unique perspective.

The curriculum is built around five interconnected study blocks:

  • Economics & Economic Behavior (ECON) – foundations of micro- and macroeconomics, decision-making of individuals, firms, and governments.
  • Management & Entrepreneurship (BUS) – insights into leadership, organizational design, and innovation.
  • Markets & Market Contexts (CONTXT) – understanding industries, competition, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Applications (APPLIED) – applying theories to real-world case studies, projects, and problem-solving.
  • Methodology (METHOD) – quantitative methods, statistics, econometrics, and programming tools for data analysis.

Together, these areas provide students with a solid academic foundation and the skills to analyze, interpret, and influence how markets and organizations function.
